Low Self-Esteem Therapy in Copenhagen

Do you often feel that you are not good enough?
Maybe you know the feeling of constantly questioning yourself.
Am I good enough?
What do other people think about me?
Did I say something wrong?
Why do I always compare myself to others?
Low self-esteem can affect much more than the way you think about yourself. It can influence your relationships, the choices you make and how safe and comfortable you feel around other people.
You may find yourself adapting to others, holding back your own needs or worrying too much about whether people like you.
And little by little, you may lose touch with something very important:
Your own sense of who you are and what you need.

How I can help you with low self-esteem
When you come to me with low self-esteem, we do not only focus on the thoughts you have about yourself today.
Together, we explore what lies behind them.
Perhaps you have spent years adapting to other people, doubting your own decisions or worrying about what others think of you.
Maybe you find it difficult to set boundaries, say no or express what you really need because you are afraid of disappointing someone or being rejected.
These patterns can become so familiar that you may not even notice how much they influence your everyday life and your relationships.
In therapy, we can work with the thoughts, emotions and underlying beliefs that may be keeping these patterns in place.
I combine psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. Psychotherapy can help you understand yourself and your patterns more clearly, while hypnotherapy can be used to work with deeper, automatic reactions and beliefs when it is relevant for you.
The goal is not to turn you into someone else.
It is to help you feel more secure in who you already are.

About me
My name is Henriette Wang. I am a trained psychotherapist and certified Master Hypnotherapist, and I have been working therapeutically with people since completing my four-year psychotherapy training in 2017.
I work with adults and young people experiencing challenges such as low self-esteem, anxiety, jealousy, stress, overthinking and difficulties in relationships.
My approach combines psychotherapy and hypnotherapy, and I also draw on my intuitive approach when it is relevant to the individual client.
For me, therapy is not only about understanding why you feel or react the way you do.
It is also about creating a change that you can begin to feel in your everyday life.
You do not need to have the right words or know exactly where your low self-esteem comes from before you contact me.
We start where you are.

Frequently asked questions about low self-esteem
Can therapy help with low self-esteem?
Yes. Therapy can help you explore why you have developed certain beliefs about yourself and how these beliefs affect your thoughts, emotions, choices and relationships.
We can work with negative self-beliefs, insecurity, boundaries and the patterns that may be making it difficult for you to feel good enough as you are.
Why do I always feel that I am not good enough?
There can be many reasons for feeling that you are not good enough.
For some people, the feeling is connected to earlier experiences, criticism, rejection or relationships in which they learned that they had to behave or perform in a certain way to be accepted.
Over time, these experiences can develop into beliefs about yourself that continue to influence you, even when you consciously know they may not be true.
Can low self-esteem affect my relationships?
Yes. Low self-esteem can make you more afraid of rejection or criticism and may cause you to adapt too much to other people.
You may find it difficult to express your needs, set boundaries or trust that someone genuinely wants to be with you.
For some people, insecurity in relationships can also contribute to jealousy, overthinking or a need for reassurance.
Can hypnotherapy help with low self-esteem?
Hypnotherapy can be part of the therapeutic process when it is appropriate for you.
In hypnotherapy, we can work with some of the automatic emotional reactions and underlying beliefs that may be difficult to change simply by thinking differently.
Hypnotherapy is not something you have to do. We decide together what makes sense for you and your therapeutic process.
How many therapy sessions will I need?
This is individual and depends on what you would like help with and what lies behind your low self-esteem.
I normally recommend beginning with a course of four sessions, giving us time to understand your patterns and work more deeply with the changes you would like to create.
Can I have therapy in English online?
Yes. I offer therapy sessions in English both at my practice in Rødovre and online.
